Pierrefeu, known as one of the wine villages in the Var is right at the border of the Massif des Maures hills which stretch back into the heart of the Var region. Rich in cork oaks and chestnut trees, the Maures became a major centre for cork and chestnut production during the 19th Century.

On the banks of the Real Martin you will find an environment of greenery and sun. In the surrounding hills, the rich past of Pierrefeu can be seen at ancient sites such as Castellas, Peyrac and Quatre Termes. The vineyards and wooded areas that surround Pierrefeu make for wonderful hiking country, and for the dedicated, going all the way to the coast, 15 km away. There is a market on Saturday mornings and in the month of May Pierrefeu hosts a popular Mediaeval Fair.
