Just a 10-15 minute walk from Toulon or a quick bus ride, brings you to the Mourillon quarter and its sandy beaches. Popular for all ages with its many water sports centres including a children’s sailing club and play areas. Excellent cafés and restaurants are dotted around the small streets and on selected parts of the beaches. There is a nice hotel overlooking the sea and fishing boats close to Fort Saint-Louis built in the 18th Century to defend the entrance to the Bay of Toulon.

Take any of the small roads leading uphill away from the beaches and you will pass an assortment of shops, as the road drops down you will reach the daily morning market with its wonderful display of fine local produce and crafts.

There are some beautiful villas to be found opposite the beaches with excellent sea views.

Take the beautiful coastal walks from the Mourillon beaches, and for the cycling enthusiast try the designated cycle route which runs the 50 km from Toulon to Saint Tropez.
