Renowned for its beautiful bay and sandy beaches, Le Lavandou now a popular touist spot, used to be a small fishing port facing the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros nicknamed the “Iles d’Or (Golden Islands) by Henry 11 in the 16th Century. The islands rich in plant and animal life with fine sandy beaches bordered by pine trees, are a magnet for visitors keen to experience their beauty and tranquillity. Le Levant, the naturist island and Bagaud complete the string of islands. Boat services to the islands are available from many of the coastal towns.
Le Lavandou is located in the heart of the Mediterranean coastal region of the South of France between Toulon on the west and St Tropez on the east. Recognised as a port for sport fishing and major marina, Le Lavandou provides 100 temporary berths while nearby Bormes (5 km) has 350. Other leisure activities include water sports, beach sports, excursions, deep-sea fishing, water park, tennis, summer entertainment, casino, nightclubs and restaurants.
