Grenoble City is characterised by a young, active, international and highly-skilled population. Among it companies are 212 foreign-owned employing 42,450 people including 68 American companies with 15,000 employees. Recognised as a European centre for information and communications technologies, digital electronics as well as bio-medical and bio-tech activities. International companies with HQ’s and offices in Grenoble include: Caterpillar, Bull, Hewlett-Packard, Rank-Xerox, Teisseire and Thomson.

Founded in 1984 Grenoble Ecole de Management is one of Europe’s best Management Schools (Grenoble Ecole de Management’s international division) offers a wide range of programmes at all levels for both French and international students. Students can study in English while living in France. The Foreign Student Affairs Office at Grenoble Graduate School of Business will assist with visa requirements, accommodation and orientation.

Grenoble boasts a wide range of sports facilities with sports clubs, golf courses, a state of the art indoor skating rink, and ski resorts less than an hours drive away. A firm favourite with ski enthusiasts Grenoble has hosted the Winter Olympics twice

Tomme de St Marcellin is a delicious chees from the “Dauphine” region of which Grenoble is the capital.
