“Legend has it that King Olbianus ruled over the South East mainland of the Côte d’Azur. He had four beautiful and fearless daughters whose favourite pastimes were swimming offshore in the sparkling azur waters of the Mediterranean Sea. One day they were seen by pirates determined to capture these beautiful young woman and claim them as their own. They began to chase the princesses and although strong swimmers, alas the shore and home were too far to reach. Just as the pirates were about to capture the sisters the Gods intervened and transformed King Olbianus’ daughters into the golden islands (Iles d’Or)”.
